ふたご座は冬の夜空に並ぶ2つの明るい星、ポルックス（β星、1.14等）とカストル（α星、1.58等）が双子の頭として輝く星座です。ポルックスはK型橙色巨星、カストルは6つの星からなる六重連星系として知られています。
2つの頭から足元に向かって星が並び、双子が並んで立つ姿を描いています。ふたご座流星群（12月中旬）の放射点としても有名です。
冬の夜、オリオン座の左上方向に、ほぼ同じ明るさの2つの星が並んでいるのが見えます。それがカストルとポルックスです。黄色味のあるポルックスの方がやや明るく、南側（下側）に位置しています。
ギリシャ神話では、ゼウスとレダの間に生まれた双子の兄弟カストルとポルックスです。カストルが命を落とした際、不死であるポルックスはゼウスに兄弟と共にいることを願い、二人は天に上げられたと伝えられています。
ふたご座はゲーム内で13番目に登場する星座で、4つのステージで構成されています。ポルックスから始まり、メブスダ、テジャト、アルヘナの順に進行します。
終盤の星座として、複雑な障害物配置と高密度のブラックホールが待ち受けています。
Gemini features two bright stars side by side — Pollux (beta, mag 1.14) and Castor (alpha, mag 1.58) — representing the heads of the twins. Pollux is a K-type orange giant, while Castor is a remarkable sextuple star system.
Rows of stars extend from the two heads downward, outlining the twins standing together. Gemini is also the radiant of the Geminid meteor shower in mid-December.
On winter evenings, look to the upper left of Orion for two stars of similar brightness side by side. The slightly brighter, yellowish one is Pollux (south), and the white one is Castor (north).
In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux were twin brothers born to Leda and Zeus. When mortal Castor fell in battle, the immortal Pollux begged Zeus to let them remain together, and both were placed among the stars.
